In the mid 1960's this Irish Folk Pop trio were on a par with the Beatles in terms of actual records sold, and outselling the Rolling Stones. We go back to their first LP and how the Bachelors were initially presented to the US market with the album simply entitled Presenting The Bachelors. It contained 2 more tracks than the UK equivalent. As is well documented upon signing to Decca in 1963, their first producer was, the soon to become legendary US producer Shel Talmy. The singles Talmy cut were not all on the first LP, but they have been included here as bonus tracks. Thus we present the beginnings of one of the most phenomenally successful groups from the 60s. There have been compilations a-plenty down the years but little is on the market now, and now is a rare chance for the legions of fans to pick up an original LP . As an extra bonus we also have the 1963 Christmas single Long Time Ago / The Angel and The Stranger - first time on CD. Diane / Whispering / You Ll Never Walk Alone / Moments To Remember / With These Hands / Only You // / Charmaine / I Believe / Dream / If / Whispering Grass / Old Bill / Bonus Tracks- Faraway Places / Is There A Chance / No Light In The Window / I Wouldn T Trade You For The World / Beneath The Willow Tree / Long Time Ago / The Angel And The Stranger |
