Fred Neil.... you have to love him. it's not just us; David Crosby, John Sebastian, Paul Kantner, Stephen Stills and a whole skipload of superstars were inspired by Fred, and remain absolutely besotted fans!!!

Yes, once more we proudly present the genius of Fred Neil. This time live! But we include not only the studio/live album, "Other Side Of This Life" (itself the remnant of a grandiose live/duets project) but, get this; FOUR completely forgotten songs from a live show at the Bitter End club in 1963 (just before the recording of his debut album with Vince Martin for Elektra!), Fred's first released recordings! These songs were only ever released on a various artists folk compilation and seemingly were completely forgotten!! They have never re-emerged!

A major rediscovery? You bet!!!!! A snapshot of the Greenwich Village folk scene before anyone was anyone? Oh yes!

Together with a 1971 show in front of an audience of music business luminaries and superstar fans, AND the remnants of the duets section, featuring David Crosby, Gram Parsons, Stephen Stills, Vince Martin - Fred's last released recordings! This is an important release everyone must have!

Fred Neil was the eminence grise of 1960's Folkrock....the most famous unknown songwriter in the world....a reclusive, truculent man, who vehemently shied away from stardom....so admired by his contemporaries that his songs are everywhere covered....by Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, the Lovin' Spoonful, Tim Buckley, Jefferson Airplane (who also wrote two songs *about* Fred!)....and most famously I suppose by Harry Nilsson, whose megahit cover of "Everybody's Talking" (from the soundtrack of "Midnight Cowboy") means that Fred Neil is the writer of one of the seven most played songs in the world!....Not bad for a man who deliberately retreated from fame at the height of his powers to pursue Dolphin research! "He taught me everything that was music" says David Crosby....and here are some of his best recordings, produced for Capitol by Nik Venet, the almost-pop-structured "Fred Neil" album, and it's experimental follow up "Sessions".....Pure genius....I quite seriously defy anyone not to love Fred Neil! This is A *very* expanded Revola classic which contains his best known songs "Everybody's Talking" and "The Dolphins". A must for folk, folkrock and general music fans everywhere!
