Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year is ‘Some People Are On The Pitch They Think Its All Over It Is Now’, the debut long-player by Medway renegades THE DENTISTS. Recorded in just a few days with The Prisoners’ Allan Crockford at the controls, SPAOTPTTIAOIIN was a brave departure from the rough ‘n’ tumble ‘60s garage rock of their peers, looking to The Smiths, REM and Go-Betweens as much as The Kinks, Byrds and Who for its inspiration. In fact The Dentists had already released one classic in the form of the ‘Strawberries Are Growing In My Garden (And It’s Wintertime)’ single which, along with it’s brace of b-sides and extensive liner notes and unseen photos from the band themselves, we’ve added to the album for your enjoyment.
