Roger Nichols And The Small Circle of Friends
Full Circle
crnow5 Roger Nichols co-authored some of the best known and biggest selling pop hits of the 20th century, including "We’ve Only Just Begun," "Rainy Days And Mondays," and "Let Me Be The One" by The Carpenters. His compositions have also been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Three Dog Night, The Monkees, and literally thousands of others. Before all that, he recorded what is today considered one of the most coveted of Sunshine Pop LPs, 1968’s Roger Nichols And The Small Circle Of Friends. Fast forward 40 years(!) and Roger and Co. (which also includes Murray Macleod of The Parade) have emerged once again to offer up what will assuredly be considered another milestone in song-craft: Full Circle! This first-ever CD issue outside of Japan of Full Circle includes songs written by Roger in his late ’60s heyday (eight of which were co-authored by Paul Williams, including their brand-new collaboration, “Look Around.”) If that’s not enough, the CD is supplemented by five exclusive ’60s-era Roger Nichols demos, never before issued anywhere! The full-colour booklet also includes rare, unpublished photos, lyrics, and quotes. |
