Trapeze
CDLEM21

Formed in Wolverhampton in 1968 and signing to the Moody Blues' Threshold Records imprint, Trapeze issued this, their self-titled debut album in 1970.

Teaming lead vocalist John Jones and guitarist/keyboardist Terry Rowley (both ex-members of The Montanas, famed for the hit "You've Got to Be Loved") with singer/guitarist Mel Galley [Whitesnake/Black Sabbath], bassist Glenn Hughes [Deep Purple], and drummer Dave Holland [Judas Priest] this is the only Trapeze album to boast the original line-up (Jones and Rowley returned to the Montanas soon after).

Produced by Moody Blues bass player/singer/songwriter John Lodge, this long-out-of-print 14 track album is a classic period example of English prog rock, mixing pastoral whimsy, swirling psychedelia, rock guitars and pop harmonies.

You Are The Music. We're Just The Band
CDLEM04

From Wolverhampton, Trapeze formed in 1968 and were one of several acts signed to Moody Blues label Threshold Records. Originally a five piece, after the release of their eponymous first album John Jones (vocal) and Terry Rowley (guitar) were dropped from the line up, leaving Glen Hughes (vocals and bass - who went on to join Deep Purple as a replacement for Roger Glover in late 1973.), Dave Holland (drums, percussion) and Mel Galley (guitar). It was this new line up that went on to record "You Are The Music. We're Just The Band" in 1972, Trapeze's third album. This is classic 70s funk rock at its best. With original artwork and photos by Fin Costello this is a must for all rock and Deep Purple fans!

"It has an effortless, loping vibe that is utterly magical..." Classic Rock
