Art Vandelay Vol. 2
cdlem64

This, the follow up to the our successful Art Vandelay Tapes Vol. 1 is once again packed with unreleased material, rare edits and remixes and features a complete cross section of Parker’s career. Included are different versions of UK and US hits, live tracks that have never been officially released before and for the first time, a new track entitled "Sinkin Low".

This record is a must for all Parker fans worldwide due to the fact that The Art Vandelay bootleg still sells for around £125 on Ebay (and incidentally doesn’t even contain the majority of these tracks!). This fantastic release also features sleevenotes courtesy of the legendary Carol Clerk

The Real McCaw
cdlem46

Originally released in 1983, this is one of Graham Parkers more collectable and sought after albums. After the success of “The Art Vandelay” on Lemon, it seems fitting to release this GP classic (this album has been bought and sold by collectors for some $90 dollars in recent years!!!), which has been deleted on CD for some 12 years now. Featuring a whole host of classic musicians including drummer Gilson from Squeeze/Jools Holland’s big band and Brinsley Swacharz on guitar, keys and vocals, this record contains one of Graham’s greatest ever songs “Life Gets Better”.

Lemon’s third exclusive release from Graham Parker, chosen by the man himself, is the 1992 critically acclaimed album praised by the All Music Guide as Graham Parker’s finest album of 90s – describing it as “wry, earnest, poignant and rollicking!!” Also produced and arranged by Graham, “Struck By Lightning” features some of his most peaceful acoustic overtones.

The Official Art Vandelay Tapes
cdlem02

This collection of out takes from the legendary Graham Parker is an introduction to his '81-96 catalogue. Parker started out as the quintessential angry young man, and was one of the most successful singer-songwriters to emerge from England's pub-rock scene of the early 1970's. Originally playing in pub rock groups around Morocco and Gibraltar, Parker began sending out demos in 1975. When Dave Robinson from Stiff records heard the tape, he got together a backing band called The Rumour for Parker and together they landed a contract with Mercury.

Their first two albums, "Howlin' Wind" and "Heat Treatment" on Mercury were hailed as a great success by the public and critics alike. However after two more albums on Mercury, Parker moved to Arista. His first album for the label was hailed as a success. After another less successful album on Arista parker spilt with The Rumour and after hiring session musicians to record with, made a move to Electra records with new backing band The Shot.

With a more radio friendly catalogue his next album was another success, however Parker didn't stay with Electra and after a few more label moves including Atlantic and RCA he switched to the independent labels. The Official Art Vandelay album is an interesting mix of Graham Parkers music and will be followed by The Up Escalator with guest artists Bruce Springsteen!
