Working also with Orson Welles, Tony Perkins illuminated fifties America with intelligence, sensitivity, talent and sex. After the death of James Dean, Perkins inherited the crown of America’s leading teen idol and the ascendancy of his film career for a while complimented his precocious activities as a pop singer. “The Prettiest Girl in School” comprises all of Perkins’ 1956-57 singles including the hit ‘Moon-Light Swim’.
