Books
"Waterlog" by Roger Deakin Amazing account of one man's quest to swim as many rivers, lakes, pools, bays, hideyholes and just about anything else he can find across the British Isles. I'd say keep an eye on your bath, but he's dead now.

Various Bukowski Why read anybody else, really ?

Also, comics, books about astronomy and music, that kind of thing. I've also got my eye out for some Asterix books, but they've got to have the same covers as the ones I read when I was a lad, none of these new fangled covers. Original artwork only please.

CDs
Supreme Vagabond Craftsman, old Underworld stuff, Fence Collective, Chemical Brothers, Sugarcubes, stuff from Static Caravan Records, Finders Keepers' wares, The Eyechilds (who I predict will be huge in 2008), De-Fence Records, R Stevie Moore, early 90's indie, The Residents, The Beach Boys, PWEI, Public Enemy, hundreds of 7" singles, The Beta Band, Lonepigeon, Dr Alban, Cud, Amino People.

Films
"300" - really good fun, if graphic novel ancient gore is your idea of fun.

"I, Robot" - happened to be lying around my flat and turned out to be quite good, which is a first for Will Smith. I still expect Jazzy Jeff to turn up as a guest star in every 7th or 8th scene though.

On TV, anything to do with the real world. But definitely no so-called "reality TV" - strikes me its not very "real" any more. Surely once its on TV the "reality" element goes out the window and people are performing for the camera.....

sorry, my memory for films is terrible and I don't watch much TV really.

Gigs
Numerous King Creosote "Bombshell" related jollys, The Bicycle Thieves, Supreme Vagabond Craftsman..... it feels like years since I went to see a band I didn't know at least one member of, which is a shame really.

Sports
Not a huge amount. I watched a couple of England's Rugby World Cup matches, which was a first. I also watched in despair as Tottenham publically humiliated then ditched the manager who brought them back from 20 years of obscurity and embarassment. Am completely losing my faith in modern top-flight football really, if thats what its become - fans blindly paying £40 a time to cheer the name of whoever has taken the fancy of a chairman whos only qualification is that he set up a successfull steel company or suchlike, has more money than sense and has little or no understanding of the game's bigger picture. Bah.

And on that bombshell.........
