The first ever DVD to feature one of the most creative and enigmatic bands of the fondly remembered early-1980's Indie boom, Eyeless In Gaza.

Martyn Bates formed Eyeless In Gaza in 1980 as a duo with Peter Becker. Eager to explore musical territories that veered crazily from filmic ambience to rock and pop, industrial funk to avant-folk styles, the duo steered hungrily and rapidly through several albums that culminated in the reflective swan songs of Rust Red September and Back From the Rains, whilst chalking up along the way hundreds of concerts all over Europe and several best selling Independent Chart singles and albums. In February 1987, citing a need to explore fresh territories and musical configurations/situations, Eyeless In Gaza suspended activities, but after a six year hiatus the band reformed in 1993.

Early 2005 sees Eyeless attending to a flurry of varied and teeming activities, as befits a band who are set to celebrate their twenty-fifth year of activity. A 25th anniversary concert is proposed, and a series of 'anniversary' releases are being prepared for release on Cherry Red Records. These releases comprise an overview 'best of' Cd released - No Noise - combing a distillation of the Cherry Red recordings and the subsequent Ambivalent Scale label releases.

Saw You In Reminding Pictures is the duo's first DVD release and accompanies the other 25th Anniversary activity. The DVD includes footage of Eyeless performing at Le Havre in 1982 plus footage from a November 2004 gig in the Isle Of Wight. Also included are original promo videos for the Eyeless In Gaza singles "Veil Like Calm" and "New Risen".

Cherry Red signed the two piece synthesiser duo Eyeless In Gaza in 1980. Back then a cassette dropped through our letter box which was virtually the finished tape of their first, highly acclaimed, album 'Photographs As Memories.' So 25 years have now passed by and Cherry Red are proud to present 'No Noise - The Very Best Of Eyeless In Gaza' (CDMRED 279), a fascinating collection which contains all the best Eyeless tracks over those years.
