This, the first ever single by Everything But The Girl reached number 1 in the Indie Charts in 83. The cover of this Cole Porter classic was loved by the press and public alike. The sensation caused by the release attracted the big international companies, who succeeded in luring the band the greater riches. After more than 10 years with Blanco Y Negro the band have just signed a deal with Virgin while enjoying another worldwide hit with the single 'Missing', which has sold over 500 000 copies in the UK, is No 6 in the European chart and reached the top 20 in the US. This success follows on from Tracey's hit earlier in the year with the single 'Protection' from Massive Attack. A feature on Everything But The Girl is scheduled for February's edition of Record Collector magazine alongside an advert for the re-released albums of Ben Watt, Tracey Thorn and The Marine Girls.
