Babes In Toyland

Babes In Toyland : The BBC Sessions
The BBC Sessions
cdmred199

Babes In Toyland, the pioneers of hard-hitting female orientated rock recorded various sessions for BBC Radio Legend, John Peel. Vibrant and enthralling "The BBC Sessions" is a 16 track collection of the highlights of the recordings. Dating from 1990 to 1992 these recordings are a testament to the Babes In Toyland power and spirit. The CD features some of the band's most favoured tracks including "Handsome & Gretel", "Catatonic", "Spit To See The Shine" and "Ripe". All the tracks were recorded live in the BBC's famous Maida Vale studios. The band is planning a reunion gig in November to coincide with the release of this CD. Their live performances are legendary and are not for the weak hearted. There are also plans for a new studio album for release early next year.

Babes In Toyland : Minneapolism (Live The Last Tour)
Minneapolism (Live The Last Tour)
cdmred181

Babes in Toyland are about as harsh as rock music gets, Lead vocalist and guitarist Kat Bjelland screams and thrashes her guitar to the gut-pounding, throttling beat of bassist Jessi Farmer and drummer Lorie Barbero. The all-female trio offer no escape from their strongly female-oriented, but not necessarily feminist, rock in this live performance from their farewell tour. Recorded at First Avenue in Minneapolis, This is an exhilarating performance from this unique 3 piece and highlights the personality and power of the band that makes them so peerless. All the band's most important tracks are featured including Bruise Violet, Swamp Pussy, Vomit Heart, Handsome And Gretel and He's My Thing. This is challenging rock music at it's best. The artwork features the specially commissioned poster for the 'Minneapolism' gig, designed by the respected American artist Steve Brown. Also included are sleeve notes, complete discography and photos taken from the farewell tour.
