 "..the best pop group in the world" (THE GUARDIAN)Musique Automatique is the new album from Stereo Total and the seventh release on Momus's Analog Baroque label. Stereo Total are French chanteuse / drummer Francois Cactus and German keyboard / home made effects / home made guitar genius Brezel Goring. They reside in Berlin and sing in French, German, English and Japanese. This is their first studio album to be released in the UK following last year's successful compilation of highlights from their first four releases, Total Pop, which was put together by Momus. Stereo Total will be touring extensively in support of this release and will be in the UK during October.

 Stereo Total are Brezel and Francoise, and they live in Berlin. They are, according to Momus, the best band in the world. With influences ranging from French girlpop of the 60's, German cabaret, disco and 80's electropop, not to mention the omnipresent ghost of Serge Gainsbourg. Total pop is a Momus-curated compilation comprising 6 tracks from each of their 4 albums on German label Bungalow. Rough- edged, vulgar, parodic, electronic, Japanesey even at their most European, cheap and ephemeral even at their most transcendent and classic, Stereo Total are total pop.In October of 2001 Stereo Total performed live at London's premier alternative nightclub Trash. Trash have now released their first compilation album "Trash Companion #1" on Palare/End Recordings. This features the live version of Stereo Total's "Wir Tanzen Im 4-Eck" recorded at the club along with other live tracks from the likes of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gonzales and Peaches.
